Leo Scott

Leo has been at Speade since the company’s creation in 2002. Working initially as assistant, he was soon promoted to editor and in 2005 was recognised in Boards International magazine as one of the top five new editors. In this years 2011 Televisual magazine Leo was voted at number 6 of the top 10 best commercial editors list.

Over the years he has formed good working relationships with directors such as Harmony Korine, Armando Iannucci, Dominic Murphy and Thirtytwo. Most notable awards were winning Clio in 2008 for best editing for Thorntons 'Stuck', directed by Harmony Korine.

Over the past four years Leo has established himself as a long form editor. His first feature film, the cult British horror 'Mum and Dad' (Steven Sheil), was on of the first produced by the 'Microwave' scheme.

In 2009 he edited Harmony Korine's fourth feature 'Trash Humpers' which contentiously won best film at Copenhagen Documentary Film Festival 2010, despite having a fictional narrative. It was selected as the number one film of 2010 by LA Weekly / Village Voice, though equally got on a few worst film of the year lists! More recent collaborations with Harmony Korine include a 15 minute short 'Umshini Wam' starring Die Antwoord, a South African futuristic rap/rave group and the forthcoming comedy 'Lotus Community Workshop' starring Val Kilmer, one of the three separate half hour films which will be connected to create a feature length film called 'The Fourth Dimension', for Vice.

Last year he edited the two part 180 minute adaptation of D.H Lawrence's 'Women in Love' for the BBC, directed by Miranda Bowen, which aired to great reviews earlier this year. In 2009 they worked together on three episodes of the controversial Channel 4 comedy satire 'Cast Offs' in 2009. They are currently editing a feature film 'Gozo', which they have developed together.
