In 2011 Sam was ranked in the top three editors in Televisual best commercial editors poll.

In previous years, Sam was voted Best Editor in commercials by Televisual, a top UK advertising trade publication, while Campaign, another leading UK trade, voted him one of the top three editors worldwide.

Sam has received numerous nominations and awards for editing. He won Best Editor at Creative Circle and a Clio award for his work on Guinness Surfer as well as the British Television Awards' Best Editing prize for Stella Artois's Hero's Return.

During his time as a commercials editor he has also worked on both Jonathan Glazer's features Sexy Beast (2000), his debut and Birth (2004). He has also worked with Stephen Woolley on Stoned (2005) and Dominic Murphy’s first feature film White Lightnin’ (2009) which was chosen for Special Selection at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sam continues to cut commercials to this day, most recently for Ivan Bird and Johnny Green, bringing a wealth of experience gained over three decades.
